In a dramatic relay race on July 26, the USA men’s 4x400m relay team set a new world championship record of 2:56.05, edging out Jamaica and Great Britain.
The championship also faced challenges. Several athletes battled injuries, which reshaped some key heats and finals. Notably, world champion hurdler Alex Martinez withdrew after a hamstring injury during the semifinals, causing disappointment among fans and teammates.
