Little Andaman Pro 2026 Opens With Thrilling Surf Battles and Big Waves

The inaugural Little Andaman Pro 2026 surfing championship began with exciting action on the stunning shores of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This national-level event brought together the country’s elite surfers for a showcase of skill and determination.

Day one featured intense heats under ideal weather conditions, with waves reaching heights of up to 6 feet. A total of 24 men and 16 women competed, delivering powerful maneuvers and precise control that captivated spectators.

Standout Performances

  • Raghav Singh from Tamil Nadu topped his heat with an impressive score of 18.75 out of 20. His sharp cutbacks and aerial moves thrilled the crowd.
  • In the women’s division, Meera Patel from Maharashtra impressed judges with her fluid riding style, earning a strong score of 17.90.

Event Importance and Safety

The championship serves as an important platform for Indian surfers to qualify for international contests while promoting eco-friendly surfing and the natural beauty of the island.

Though some surfers experienced tough falls in the challenging surf, there were no serious injuries. Lifeguards maintained vigilant safety measures throughout the day as enthusiastic fans cheered from the beaches.

Community Engagement and Future Rounds

Organizers have planned additional activities such as workshops and beach clean-ups aimed at sustainability and community involvement. The competition will continue over the next three days, building excitement toward the finals.
