YAKIMA, USA — The Wenatchee High School wrestling team went head-to-head against the Davis Pirates in a highly competitive Big Nine Conference dual meet on Thursday. The match was marked by fierce battles, with Wenatchee and Davis sharing victories across several weight classes.
The meet opened with both teams putting forward strong performances. Wenatchee took early leads in the middleweight divisions, showcasing technical skill and strategic prowess. However, Davis countered in the heavyweight categories, keeping the scoreline close throughout the contest.
One highlight was Wenatchee’s 145-pound wrestler, who electrified the crowd by pinning his opponent in the second period with a swift and decisive maneuver. In a different event held the same day, the Cashmere High School wrestling team achieved a complete sweep in their first South Central Athletic Conference (SCAC) meet of the season. Cashmere dominated every weight class, reflecting the depth and talent of their roster.
Cashmere’s coach shared his pride in the team’s performance: “Starting the SCAC meet with a clean sweep is a fantastic boost for our morale going into the rest of the season. Our athletes executed the game plan perfectly.”
